Dear Families

Year 3 Residential Visit to Burwell Monday 27th February to Wednesday 1st March 2023

We have organised a trip to Burwell for our year three children in February 2023. This is for children who are currently in year two this academic year.

We will leave school during the morning of Monday 27th February and return during the afternoon of Wednesday 1st March 2023

We anticipate the cost will be around £200, though this price may slightly vary if numbers are lower or higher than expected. The cost includes transport, accommodation and meals. Burwell will cater for dietary requirements.

There will be an information meeting about this visit on Monday 20th June at 3.30 pm in Juniper class where you will have the opportunity to ask any questions. This meeting should last for about 20 minutes. This is for year two children and their parents or carers, please can your child sit with you throughout this meeting.

An indication of interest will be asked for following the meeting and an initial deposit of £25 will requested to secure your child’s place.

This is an exciting opportunity and we hope that many children will want to participate.

So we know numbers please can you complete the slip below if you are able to attend. If you are unable to make this meeting and have any questions please do not hesitate to email the school office.

Welcome to Oakley Primary Academy

I would like to welcome you to Oakley Primary Academy. We are a friendly village school with exciting times ahead as we begin our journey of being part of the newly formed Meridian Trust. We work closely with all the schools within the Trust, as well as other schools and pre-schools in the local area. This enables us to share expertise, good practice and learn and move forward together. The close links we have with the pre-schools enable us to really get to know the pupils and their families before they join the Early Years.

We are proud to be a ‘Values School’. The values we teach are modelled by our staff members and through our teaching of the curriculum. We are a supportive and hardworking team, where all stakeholders are valued and listened to.

At Oakley Primary Academy we deliver the National Curriculum through a creative curriculum so that learning is creative, fun, and meaningful. There is a clear progression of knowledge in each subject to enable children to grow in all areas and be successful, not only academically, but in daily life.

We work very closely with the families of our school and acknowledge the importance of close home/school links.

We have an open-door policy and there is always someone available if you wish to talk.

I am extremely proud of our school and of all the hard work from our pupils, families, staff, and governors.
