Creative Arts Festival for Our Street Dancers

On Wednesday 14th March, your child will be performing in the Creative Arts Festival at Sharnbrook Academy.

As mentioned in the previous letter, your child will need to be picked up from school and then taken to Sharnbrook by 2:30pm - 2:45pm so we can start our rehearsal promptly. The children will then stay at Sharnbrook Academy with Oakley staff members until the performance. During this time, the children will be having dinner, they will therefore need a packed tea (preferably in a disposable bag) and a drink. It would also be helpful if they could bring one item to keep them occupied during the evening. This can be a colouring book, notepad, pens, reading book etc. No electrical items and please be aware that your child will be responsible for any items they bring.

Parking:
⁻ When you drop their children off for the rehearsal, please park in the lower car park and walk to main reception. Please do not park in the top car park as you may be blocked in by buses.
⁻ For the main performance, parking can be in any car park.
Ticket information:
⁻ Tickets are available to purchase at a cost of £3 each. These will be allocated and sent at the end of February.
⁻ Tickets will be required to gain entrance. If arriving without a ticket as it has been lost of misplaced, you will be asked to wait until everyone else has been seated and will only be allowed entry if there are sufficient seats.
⁻ Children over the age of 2 will need their own ticket.
⁻ Doors open at 6:15pm, the main performance begins at 6:30pm – duration is usually 45 mins to 1 hour.

Welcome to Oakley Primary Academy

I would like to welcome you to Oakley Primary Academy. We are a friendly village school with exciting times ahead as we begin our journey of being part of the newly formed Meridian Trust. We work closely with all the schools within the Trust, as well as other schools and pre-schools in the local area. This enables us to share expertise, good practice and learn and move forward together. The close links we have with the pre-schools enable us to really get to know the pupils and their families before they join the Early Years.

We are proud to be a ‘Values School’. The values we teach are modelled by our staff members and through our teaching of the curriculum. We are a supportive and hardworking team, where all stakeholders are valued and listened to.

At Oakley Primary Academy we deliver the National Curriculum through a creative curriculum so that learning is creative, fun, and meaningful. There is a clear progression of knowledge in each subject to enable children to grow in all areas and be successful, not only academically, but in daily life.

We work very closely with the families of our school and acknowledge the importance of close home/school links.

We have an open-door policy and there is always someone available if you wish to talk.

I am extremely proud of our school and of all the hard work from our pupils, families, staff, and governors.
