Key Stage 2 Egyptian Day
As part of our exciting topic, The Ancient Egyptians, we have arranged for the children to experience an Egyptian day in school on Thursday 16th March.
An Egyptologist will join the Key Stage 2 team for the day and the pupils will take part in several hands-on activities whilst learning what it was like to live in the
Egyptian times. The day will be full of both history and geography of the ancient world. The children will be learning and translating hieroglyphics, learning some Egyptian maths, discussing the beliefs of the Egyptians (gods and goddesses) and finding out more about mummies! There will even be genuine artefacts from the Egyptian times for the children to handle.
There will be no need for pupils to dress up for this day; the children will need to be in school uniform as normal.
As a part of this exciting day, they will be tasting a small piece of pitta bread. This will not be given to any children with related allergies or intolerance. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to speak to a member of the Key Stage 2 team.
