Irchester Country Park - Year 1 & 2

As part of our “Where the Wild Things Are” topic, we have arranged an exciting trip to Irchester Country Park. The children will be exploring nature through a range of different activities including, sensory walks and learning about minibeasts and their habitats linking in with the children’s Science studies. The trip will take place on two separate days depending on what year group your child is in. For Year 2’s it will be on Monday 1st July and for Year 1’s it will be on Monday 8th July. The total cost of the trip is £10.50, which includes transport and ranger led activities. We aim to leave school as close to 9am as we can and return by the end of the school day.

While there is no obligation on the part of parents to contribute to the cost of this activity and pupils will not be treated differently according to whether or not their parents make a contribution, the activity will unfortunately not take place if parents are reluctant to give it adequate financial support.

Reply slips and voluntary payments must bereturned by Friday 7th June to ensure we can attend this trip.

Your child will need to arrive in school as normal, dressed in school uniform. They will need a named water bottle and sensible shoes to walk in. Please be aware sun cream, sun hats and lightweight raincoats may be needed depending on the weather. Your child will also need to bring a small sized rucksack with all their belongings in for the day however it will be the child’s responsibility to carry and look after this and should therefore be suitable.

Lunches:

If your child would like a packed lunch provided by school, please indicate on form and book your child in for SANDWICH on the online system.

If you are providing your own packed lunch for your child, please indicate on the form.

We hope this will be a fun filled day for all and the children enjoy becoming mini explorers!

Yours sincerely

Welcome to Oakley Primary Academy

I would like to welcome you to Oakley Primary Academy. We are a friendly village school with exciting times ahead as we begin our journey of being part of the newly formed Meridian Trust. We work closely with all the schools within the Trust, as well as other schools and pre-schools in the local area. This enables us to share expertise, good practice and learn and move forward together. The close links we have with the pre-schools enable us to really get to know the pupils and their families before they join the Early Years.

We are proud to be a ‘Values School’. The values we teach are modelled by our staff members and through our teaching of the curriculum. We are a supportive and hardworking team, where all stakeholders are valued and listened to.

At Oakley Primary Academy we deliver the National Curriculum through a creative curriculum so that learning is creative, fun, and meaningful. There is a clear progression of knowledge in each subject to enable children to grow in all areas and be successful, not only academically, but in daily life.

We work very closely with the families of our school and acknowledge the importance of close home/school links.

We have an open-door policy and there is always someone available if you wish to talk.

I am extremely proud of our school and of all the hard work from our pupils, families, staff, and governors.
