KS1 Stanwick Lakes Trip

As part of ‘Beside the Seaside’ topic we have arranged an exciting trip to Stanwick Lakes. We will be exploring the sand areas- creating castles and forts, looking at the range of flowers and trees- linking to our Science topic and taking part in an outdoor art activity lead by the rangers on site. The trip will take place on Tuesday 19th June.

The total cost of the trip is £8.50, which includes transport and ranger lead activities. We aim to leave school as close to 9am as we can and return by the end of the school day.

While there is no obligation on the part of parents to contribute to the cost of this activity and pupils will not be treated differently according to whether or not their parents make a contribution, the activity will unfortunately not take place if parents are reluctant to give it adequate financial support.

Reply slips and voluntary payments must be returned by Friday 25

th May to ensure we can attend this trip.

Your child will need:

Arrive in school as normal, dressed in school uniform.

A water bottle (named)

Other (suntan lotion applied, hat, light weight coat, sensible shoes)

If your child would like a packed lunch provided by school, please book your child in for SANDWICH on TUESDAY 19

th JUNE via the online ParentPay system. Please then fill in their choice of sandwich filling on the reply slip.

Welcome to Oakley Primary Academy

I would like to welcome you to Oakley Primary Academy. We are a friendly village school with exciting times ahead as we begin our journey of being part of the newly formed Meridian Trust. We work closely with all the schools within the Trust, as well as other schools and pre-schools in the local area. This enables us to share expertise, good practice and learn and move forward together. The close links we have with the pre-schools enable us to really get to know the pupils and their families before they join the Early Years.

We are proud to be a ‘Values School’. The values we teach are modelled by our staff members and through our teaching of the curriculum. We are a supportive and hardworking team, where all stakeholders are valued and listened to.

At Oakley Primary Academy we deliver the National Curriculum through a creative curriculum so that learning is creative, fun, and meaningful. There is a clear progression of knowledge in each subject to enable children to grow in all areas and be successful, not only academically, but in daily life.

We work very closely with the families of our school and acknowledge the importance of close home/school links.

We have an open-door policy and there is always someone available if you wish to talk.

I am extremely proud of our school and of all the hard work from our pupils, families, staff, and governors.
