Pyjamarama
Pyjamarama Day!
On Friday 14th June, we are joining half a million people across the UK to help give every child a bedtime story.
Pyjamarama is a mass-participation fundraising initiative by BookTrust in England and Northern Ireland where children (and hopefully adults!) will pay £1 to wear their pyjamas for a day whilst celebrating the bedtime story through a host of fun activities.
On this day please come into school wearing your pyjamas (please make sure they have underwear beneath!) and donate £1 if you are able to. Children can wear normal school shoes or trainers but no slippers please.
If your child does not want to wear the bedtime clothes they are welcome to wear some ‘comfy clothes’ like tracksuits or leggings (no large labelled clothing please).
We will also be asking the children to bring in their favourite bedtime story so that they can join in with the activities during the day.
The money raised will be sent to the BookTrust to support its work ensuring every child has a bedtime story. They supply books to women’s refuge centres, deprived communities and pupils with disabilities who require specially created touch and feel books.
Any questions please ask your class teacher.
