Reception Unit visit to Westlodge Rural Centre

We have arranged an educational visit to Westlodge Rural Centre, Desborough, on Thursday 15th June, for all the children in
Acorn 1 and 2.

The visit will help the children’s learning in the ‘Understanding the World’ area of the curriculum, finding out all about similarities
and differences between animals and their environments and showing care and concern for living things, as well as reinforcing
our school values.

The cost of this visit will be £15.70 which includes coach travel, insurance and entry to the centre, please make cheques payable
to Sharnbrook Academy Federation. During the visit, the children will also be given a guided tour by the centre leaders.

While there is no obligation on the part of parents to contribute to the cost of this activity and pupils will not be treated differently
according to whether or not their parents make a contribution, the activity will unfortunately not take place if parents are
reluctant to give it adequate financial support.

Note: If you have any difficulty paying in this instance, Mrs Wille in the school office must be informed.

Your child is entitled to a free school packed lunch provided by the kitchen for such visits. If you would like one of these, please
indicate on the reply slip so that the ingredients can be ordered. The packed lunch will contain a sandwich, vegetable sticks, piece
of fruit and a cake/biscuit. Alternatively, you can provide your child with a packed lunch from home.

Please return the payment and contact details by Friday 12th May, so that all details can be finalised.

We are sure the children will gain much from this enjoyable visit.

Welcome to Oakley Primary Academy

I would like to welcome you to Oakley Primary Academy. We are a friendly village school with exciting times ahead as we begin our journey of being part of the newly formed Meridian Trust. We work closely with all the schools within the Trust, as well as other schools and pre-schools in the local area. This enables us to share expertise, good practice and learn and move forward together. The close links we have with the pre-schools enable us to really get to know the pupils and their families before they join the Early Years.

We are proud to be a ‘Values School’. The values we teach are modelled by our staff members and through our teaching of the curriculum. We are a supportive and hardworking team, where all stakeholders are valued and listened to.

At Oakley Primary Academy we deliver the National Curriculum through a creative curriculum so that learning is creative, fun, and meaningful. There is a clear progression of knowledge in each subject to enable children to grow in all areas and be successful, not only academically, but in daily life.

We work very closely with the families of our school and acknowledge the importance of close home/school links.

We have an open-door policy and there is always someone available if you wish to talk.

I am extremely proud of our school and of all the hard work from our pupils, families, staff, and governors.
