Years 3 & 4 visit the Gurdwara
The children are studying Sikhism during R.E. this term and to consolidate their learning a visit to the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Queen’s Park, Bedford, has been arranged for them on the morning of Thursday 9th November.
This is an exciting opportunity for the children to experience one of the largest Gurdwaras in Europe. During the visit, the children will learn more about the Sikh religion during an interactive question and answer session, followed by a tour of the building including the main prayer hall. Many of our school values are evident in the teachings of Sikhism, as well as most other world religions.
The children will leave school at approximately 9.40 am and return in time for lunch. No additional arrangements for lunch on this day are needed.
All visitors to any Gurdwara are respectfully asked to cover their heads upon entering the building and to remove shoes. Please send your child to school that day with a suitable headscarf that they can put on themselves.
