Welcome to Elm class!

We are a dynamic and energetic year 5 class who are very excited to be back in school, continuing our learning and re-connecting with our friends.

We will be learning about a variety of subjects this year including: rainforests and biomes, forces, the Vikings, how to keep fit and healthy (and lots, lots more). We will have the opportunity to study some incredible novels such as Viking Boy, Cosmic and Why the whales came. This will give us the chance to explore a range of genres and authors. In maths, we will begin with looking at place value before we continue to expand our knowledge in a variety of mathematical areas.

We are taught by Miss Howes and have Mrs Freemantle supporting us as well. It has been amazing to get to know our new teacher and learn lots about each other. We are a class who have a huge love of reading and you can often catch us discussing various books – especially those in the Harry Potter series! Moreover, we love to celebrate our differences and achievements, one way we do this is through ‘Dojo points’. As a class, we have already learnt so much about each other and what we enjoy inside and outside of school. As the year continues, we hope this will as well.

We cannot wait to see where this year’s learning journey takes us and we look forward to sharing news and progress as the year develops. If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact Miss Howes either by email or telephone or at the door (social distancing rules apply).
Let’s have a fantastic year and make some more amazing memories!

Welcome to Oakley Primary Academy

On behalf of the governors, the staff, pupils I would like to welcome you to Oakley Primary Academy. We are friendly village school with exciting times ahead as we begin our journey of being a full primary school this year. We are a member of the Sharnbrook Academy Federation and work closely with all of the schools within the Federation, as well as other schools and pre-schools in the local area. This enables us to share expertise, good practice and learn and move forward together. The close links we have with the pre-schools enable us to really get to know the pupils and their families before they join the Early Years.

We are proud to be a ‘Values School’. The values we teach are modelled by all of the team and through our teaching of the curriculum. We are a supportive and hardworking team, where all stakeholders are valued and listened to.

At Oakley Primary Academy we deliver the National Curriculum through a creative curriculum so that learning is creative, fun and meaningful. There is a clear progression of skills in each subject to enable children to grow in all areas and be successful, not only in key assessments, but in daily life.

We work very closely with the families of our school and acknowledge the importance of close home/school links. We have an open door policy and there is always someone available if you wish to talk.

I am extremely proud of our school and of all the hard work from our pupils, families, staff, PTA and governors.

If you would like any further information about our school please make contact via the details on this website.
