Welcome to Acorns!

We are the youngest members of Oakley Primary Academy.
Our teacher is Miss Randell and we have Mrs Flint and Mrs Green who are amazing at helping us in the classroom with everything we do.
We provide a positive, caring, safe and stimulating environment, following children’s interests through activity-based topics. We are active learners, exploring the world through a range of indoor and outdoor experiences, always bringing along our wellies so we can experience the different types of weather!
When we achieve great things (in our work or living our school values), we can move our pegs up the achievement ladder. If we get to ‘outstanding’, we get a golden ticket to celebrate!
PE is on Thursday each week and we come into school dressed in our PE kit on that day.
We go to the school library on Thursdays and can borrow a different book each week to bring home and share.

Summer Term 2022

In the summer term Early Years will be venturing on a journey into our new topic, Land Ahoy! We will be going on a voyage around the world, looking at different countries and cultures and exploring how people travel to different places. The children will become pirates to explore the seas as we create maps, look for treasure and delve deep into the ocean. Our little voyagers will also be planting vegetables and flowers in our greenhouse and planter, looking after them and observing the changes as they grow. In Maths we are travelling to 20 and beyond, adding and taking away, doubling, sharing, and grouping and looking at odd and even numbers as we deepen our understanding of number patterns and relationships. We will be focusing on reading and writing full sentences and being able to spell all the Early Years tricky words. There will be adventures galore as we spend time learning outdoors, making the most of our newly installed outside water tap!

Welcome to Oakley Primary Academy

I would like to welcome you to Oakley Primary Academy. We are a friendly village school with exciting times ahead as we begin our journey of being part of the newly formed Meridian Trust. We work closely with all the schools within the Trust, as well as other schools and pre-schools in the local area. This enables us to share expertise, good practice and learn and move forward together. The close links we have with the pre-schools enable us to really get to know the pupils and their families before they join the Early Years.

We are proud to be a ‘Values School’. The values we teach are modelled by our staff members and through our teaching of the curriculum. We are a supportive and hardworking team, where all stakeholders are valued and listened to.

At Oakley Primary Academy we deliver the National Curriculum through a creative curriculum so that learning is creative, fun, and meaningful. There is a clear progression of knowledge in each subject to enable children to grow in all areas and be successful, not only academically, but in daily life.

We work very closely with the families of our school and acknowledge the importance of close home/school links.

We have an open-door policy and there is always someone available if you wish to talk.

I am extremely proud of our school and of all the hard work from our pupils, families, staff, and governors.
